Don't July to Me!

'Cuz I ain't lyin' to you!  I don't have anything more creative to call this one, so that'll have to do!

4th of July weekend came with rain, and we were lucky to see fireworks at Capital City Club on the 3rd with some friends we hadn't seen in awhile. The fireworks were great, but they were also super loud b/c they were so close to where we were sitting on the golf course. Jack was a little scared of them, saying "No boom boom!" over and over again. Brett and I took turns walking around with him and talking to him about them. "Look at the colors, ooh I like the green. Which ones do you like? Did you see the pink? Wow, that one looks like a shooting star!" When it was all over Jack said, "Boom boom all done," and he seemed relieved. 

On the 4th we went bowling!  What more American way to spend a rainy day?  The Stokes Family joined us, and Jack and his best bud Braeden got to use the bumper lanes and the aiming ramp!  After that we just hung out at home and debated if we were going to venture out into the storm to see the Decatur fireworks with Grandma and Grandpa or just stay home.  Luckily we just stayed home b/c the Decatur fireworks were cancelled!  Jack went to bed early and Mommy and Daddy watched the NYC fireworks on TV. 

Later that week Jack's new swim vest arrived!  He can now move his arms freely and still be supported in the water, although he LOVES to swim underwater w/out the vest too!  Here is a picture of Daddy coming up for air after taking Jack-Bo for a dolphin ride!  That evening we met some new friends at the pool and jack showed off lots of his tricks for them.  He was jumping and floating and also letting Daddy throw him high up into the air!

On the 8th we finally got around to celebrating Father's Day with Grandpa and our June birthdays with the Olander and Hunt sides of the family.  We went to Benihana (Mommy's FAVORITE place), and splurged for a special dinner!  Grandma had a very yummy cookie cake made to celebrate all the dad's and the birthdays, and we feasted on that for a couple of days!  Here is a picture of Mommy and Jack-Bo at dinner!  Of course mommy is making a silly screaming face...as usual!

The following Monday Jack and I had a special date with Cousin Logan at the zoo! 

We did all our favorite things of course!

In the Petting Zoo, Gerald the Goat got a little hungry and decided to munch on Jack's hat! 

Jack didn't even seem to mind! 

Mommy and Logan climbed the rock wall at the zoo!  It was Mommy's first time, and she was scared!  But Jack and Logan cheered me on while Logan took some pics!  Here is a pic of each of us!

After the zoo Logan got to attend Jack's gymnastics class.  Then we played at Hammond Park for a little while before going back home to swim and eat dinner.  It was a really special day with cousin Logan!

This week Mommy is off of work and having a little "stay/play-cation" at home with Jack-Bo!  We have lots of adventures lined up, so check back soon to see more pics!
